Have you had a rough week?
Maybe you’ve made some mistakes or missed some opportunities that you should have taken. Lost your temper with your children? Skipped exercising? Ignored your spouse? Missed an important meeting?
We have good intentions and try our best sometimes to do “it” right. To be the good mom, the loving wife, the competent co-worker. But there’s often a gap between our intentions and our reality. Sometimes everything seems to go wrong at the same time. It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, possibly even defeated.
But don’t give up trying. You will never be perfect. Read that again – you will never be perfect, so stop trying to be! :) You do not have to be perfect to be wonderful – and you are wonderful!
God made you unique and wonderful and loved. He is giving you everything you need to fulfill His purpose for your life. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to be better, nicer, smarter, faster, thinner, stronger, healthier. You don’t have to do it all at once, just keep making progress.
If you are feeling defeated today, don’t give up. If you’ve suffered a bit of a set back this week, don’t give up. If you want to quit trying, don’t give up. Take a deep breath, take a walk outside, clear your head, and start again. Whatever your “it” is, you can do it if you just won’t quit.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
