To every one of you fighting a battle right now, read those words again . . slowly.
It doesn’t matter if your battle is internal or external, emotional or physical, big or little, the Lord will fight for you – not with you or behind you or after you, but FOR you – if you will be still and let Him.
Oh, that being still thing is so hard, isn’t it?
We try with all our might to fight battles our own way, believing that we have the strength, wisdom, and power to handle them without help from anyone. We are proud of our independence. When we finally realize we can’t handle it on our own, we beg God for help.
And He graciously, lovingly, willingly steps in.
But. That doesn’t mean the battle will be won the way we would like nor does it mean the battle will won on a timetable that suits us.
But. We can trust He will use the outcome to grow us, to mold us, and to build us into the people we should be. We can rely on His strength to bring about good from bad. We can rest knowing that He will do what He says.
The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it. – 1 Thessalonians 5:24
